Discover The Breakfast Club Spitalfields

Walking into The Breakfast Club Spitalfields feels like stepping into a lively London morning that never really ends. Tucked away at 12-16 Artillery Ln, London E1 7LS, United Kingdom, this spot has become a familiar name for locals, office workers, and weekend explorers who take breakfast seriously. I’ve eaten here more times than I can count, usually after wandering around Spitalfields Market, and it consistently delivers the kind of comfort food that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment.

The menu is built around bold, indulgent choices that lean heavily into American-style breakfast while keeping a British edge. Think stacks of pancakes, crispy bacon, proper eggs done your way, and hearty plates that don’t pretend to be dainty. One of my regular orders is the classic full breakfast, mainly because the portions are generous without being ridiculous, and everything arrives hot and well-timed. Friends who prefer lighter options usually go for avocado-based dishes or granola bowls, which keeps the menu flexible for different tastes. According to reviews across major food platforms, consistency is one of the biggest reasons people return, and that matches my own experience almost exactly.

What stands out professionally is how the kitchen manages speed without sacrificing quality. During peak brunch hours, especially on Saturdays, the place fills up fast. Despite that, the workflow is tight. Orders move quickly, plates don’t sit under heat lamps too long, and substitutions are handled with minimal fuss. This kind of operational efficiency is something hospitality experts often point to as a marker of a well-run diner, and it shows here. The British Hospitality Association has long noted that fast-casual restaurants with streamlined menus tend to perform better in high-footfall areas, and this location fits that model perfectly.

Drinks deserve their own moment. The coffee is strong and reliable, which matters more than fancy latte art when you’re half-awake. Their brunch cocktails are also popular, especially the bottomless brunch option that tends to dominate weekend chatter. While indulgent, the staff are careful about pacing refills, which keeps things fun rather than chaotic. From a trust standpoint, it’s worth noting that the restaurant follows standard UK alcohol service guidelines, something the Food Standards Agency regularly emphasizes for customer safety.

Atmosphere plays a big role here. The interiors are loud in the best way-retro décor, packed tables, and the hum of conversation bouncing off the walls. It’s not the place for a quiet business meeting, but it’s perfect for catching up with friends or fueling up before exploring East London. The Spitalfields location in particular benefits from its surroundings, with creative shops and historic streets adding to the overall experience.

Pricing sits comfortably in the mid-range for London. You’re not getting a bargain-basement breakfast, but you are paying for portion size, location, and reliability. From a value perspective, most diners seem satisfied, judging by the steady stream of positive reviews and repeat customers. One limitation worth mentioning is wait times during peak hours; queues are common, and there’s no guarantee of immediate seating. Still, for many, that’s simply part of the ritual.

Overall, this diner has earned its reputation through repetition and delivery, not hype. It knows exactly what it is, sticks to it, and does it well, which is often harder than it looks in a competitive food scene like London’s.

  • Visited The Breakfast Club Spitalfields on on my recent trip to London, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. Food and drinks were amazing, the spot was nicely decorated and special shoutout to our server Aoife with the excellent service. Aoife had noticed us taking pictures of our food and volunteered to help take a photo of us with the lovely neon sign on the wall. It's nice when the food is great, but always made better when service is above and beyond. Would definitely make a visit back when I'm next in London!

  • We had a wonderful time at The Breakfast Club in Spitalfields! My partner is lactose intolerant and they kindly offered plant based pancakes — they were absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed two creamy oat milk cappuccinos, simply perfect. A very special thank you to Aoife, our lovely waitress. She was not only sweet and attentive, but also took the time to recommend fun activities for our trip. Her kindness truly made our experience unforgettable The staff in general were amazing — fast service, spotless place, and such a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend this spot to everyone visiting London, it’s a must!

  • This spot is just a short walk from Liverpool Street Station, so the location is great and very central. We had our Sunday morning breakfast here and really enjoyed it. At 8:45 there were barely any tables taken; by 10 most were full. The selection is big enough to suit pretty much everyone. We especially appreciated the wide range of vegetarian options and found the “sausages” super tasty. Hash browns were honestly the best we’ve ever had. Pancakes were fluffy, though very filling. The baked beans, however, weren’t to our taste – honestly, we’d even prefer the canned ones :D.. But of course, taste varies! The staff were relatively kind. There are only two bathrooms, both plastered with stickers and little notes from strangers, which is a really fun touch. Cleanliness could be improved a bit, though. One thing to keep in mind: there’s an “optional” 12.5% service charge added to the bill. So, in my opinion, there’s really no need to tip extra if that‘s already included (as a tourist, I always find this kind of pre-set charge a bit questionable).

  • Great food, we both tried the full English breakfast, and it was very tasty, and a big portion. The place is really cosy, really enjoyed the atmosphere, staff was very nice. Our penguin was delighted as well! You might want to book a table in advance, as if you are not so lucky as we were, you may need to wait a bit until you can get a table.
